General Environmental Management (GEM), a full service, rapidly growing hazardous waste management firm, is looking for a Project Manager / Field Chemist based at our Rancho Cordova Facility. The Project Manager / Field Chemist position reports to the Field Services Manager.
Requirements
This position is responsible for identifying, segregating, packaging and labeling hazardous waste for transportation and disposal. This includes completion of all regulatory paperwork, manifests, LDR’s, site safety plans and packing slips. Must be able to effectively supervise Field Technicians and subcontractors. 40 hour OSHA HZWOPR training required, Bachelors Degree or 5 years of related experience strongly preferred. EPA, DOT, and OSHA compliance knowledge is a must. Excellent driving record and ability to obtain a Class B commercial drivers license required.

Requirements
A four year science degree is preferred. This position requires a minimum of five years experience in the environmental/hazardous waste management field and possession of a Class B license. 40 hour OSHA HZWOPR training is required.
Position Overview
This position reports to the Technical Services Director. The Technical Services Representative (TSR) provides technical support and expertise in the management of hazardous waste and materials. The TSR is responsible for directly supporting the customer’s management, handling and packaging of hazardous waste via the Internet and direct communications. The TSR is also tasked with supporting General Environmental Management, Inc. (GEM) field operations staff in accomplishing field services. The TSR also supports the development and improvement of the Company’s web site and Internet based applications. The TSR reviews and monitors the design and functions of these systems to ensure they operate properly, meet clients’ needs, comply with regulatory mandates and support operational requirements.
