We’d like to express our sincere appreciation for allowing General Environmental Management, Inc. (GEM) the opportunity to service your environmental service needs.
GEM continues to be challenged with the volatility in the energy market. The cost of diesel fuel alone has risen 23% since January 1, 2008. While we have made every effort to absorb costs by implementing financial controls and process efficiencies, we must again ask our customers to assist in off-setting some of these rising costs.
Effective May 1, 2008, GEM will be raising our energy surcharge to 15% of invoice total. Given the constant fluctuation in the energy market, GEM has adapted a policy of routine monitoring, and will be making surcharge adjustments, both up and down, on a periodic basis. Rather than sending customer notification, we’ll be making all future surcharge adjustments public through our web site.
We regret the inconvenience this has presented and will continue to make every effort possible to provide you with the superior service you have become accustomed to.
Again, we appreciate your business and do not hesitate to call us should you have any environmental services needs.
